Discover the cultural essence of Baku through 10 unique exhibitions and museums, where history, architecture, style and taste come together in one immersive route. The tour includes Baku’s key landmarks: the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Carpet Museum, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and, if time allows, the Taghiyev Palace, reflecting the city’s journey from medieval power to the oil boom.

At the futuristic Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid, you will visit six exhibitions: handmade dolls, Azerbaijan in Miniature, vintage cars, traditional musical instruments, hi-tech contemporary sculptures, and national costumes with jewelry. The flowing architecture and play of light make the visit a visual experience in itself.

At the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, shaped like a rolled carpet, you will learn the secrets of handwoven carpets and how to “read” symbolic patterns that served as cultural codes and talismans.

The route continues with a sweet tasting experience at an eastern market and a gastronomic center, featuring saffron pahlava, shekerbura, badambura, kurabiye, kolobok, kyata and other national desserts.

An alternative finale focuses on the Palace of the Shirvanshahs — mausoleum, hammam, mosque and ceremonial halls of the 15th century — or, time permitting, the Taghiyev Palace, revealing the luxury and oil diplomacy of early 20th-century Baku.
