Gakh Cultural Tour — Mountains, Ancient Villages, Temples and Waterfalls (3 Days)

This 3-day tour to Gakh, Azerbaijan is a deep journey into the culture, history and nature of the Caucasus. You will explore a picturesque mountain town, ancient villages, waterfalls and historic monuments that reveal the authentic spirit of the region.

You will walk through the old streets of Gakh, visit a historic bazaar that once served as a major craft and trade center, and see key landmarks connected with the region’s past. The route continues to Ilisu, a traditional mountain village known for its unique architecture, scenic landscapes and waterfalls. Here you will visit the Sumug Gala Fortress, the 19th-century mosque, and enjoy panoramic mountain views.

The tour also includes Lekit village and Lekit waterfalls, surrounded by untouched nature, the historic Gakh caravanserai, and the Lekit Albanian Church — a 5th–7th century Christian храм of Caucasian Albania and one of the most important early religious monuments in Azerbaijan.

After visiting the temple, you will stop at a local beekeeping farm to learn about traditional honey production, taste natural honey and purchase fresh products. The journey is completed with a tasting of traditional Azerbaijani cuisine in one of the best local restaurants.
